Disciple-making Followup and Outreach
A leading example of prayer and outreach is the Billion Soul Harvest, a cooperation of churches and global movements. Global leaders from various regions/continents are joining together to reach one billion people with the Good News of salvation in Jesus Christ by 2030.
There is a simple way for CHURCHES AND HOME GROUPS to followup by engaging and equipping the individuals who will respond to the various outreaches. Proven in more than 1,850 movements worldwide, something you can do will help a new believer be discipled and discover how God wants them to live. Everything you need is provided. It is not complicated. Doing the four steps below will get you started. You can do this for one person and you will not be teaching or mentoring. You can be a disciple-maker for someone who desperately needs to grow in the Word and not fall away from their new found faith.
Your followup brings the grace-filled work of the Holy Spirit into the life of the person you help. What they discover directly from the Word of God will spread into their family, friends, and co-workers. What you do in an hour a week for as little as three weeks will bless the lives of many!
“There are many people to harvest but only a few workers to help harvest them. Pray to the Lord, who owns the harvest, that he will send more workers to gather his harvest.” Matthew 9:37-38 NCV
You can get started in 45 minutes with the video and the steps below:
After you do the four things below we encourage you to enter the site and contact us with questions but please only do that after you have taken these initial steps to get started.
15 minutes. John King is a global coach and international leader in the major developments and refinements of discovery studies and disciple-making movements. In this video he presents the questions, guidelines and biblical approach that will prepare you to be part of the followup for coming revivals in your church, in your community, and across the globe.
For disciple-making followup having a bookmark with the discovery questions, guidelines, and Creation to Christ scripture passages means you are already prepared to engage in the Discovery Bible Study process with new believers.
Follow the Guidelines on the Bookmark to Ask the
Questions and Do a Practice Session with Someone.
We suggest you begin with this Scripture Passage – John 15:5-8 NCV.
5“I am the vine, and you are the branches. If any remain in me and I remain in them, they produce much fruit. But without me they can do nothing.
6 If any do not remain in me, they are like a branch that is thrown away and then dies. People pick up dead branches, throw them into the fire, and burn them.
7 If you remain in me and follow my teachings, you can ask anything you want, and it will be given to you.
8 You should produce much fruit and show that you are my followers, which brings glory to my Father.
Begin by Praying
The Holy Spirit does the work. Helping others discover in His Word is God’s idea.
By praying and using the questions and guidelines with a scripture passage you can be part of God’s plan to followup with new believers.
